I'd imagine there's some other device also on those frequencies (probably a wireless router - anything else would be fairly intermittent and would self-resolve eventually). The sound distorts when it wants to and never goes back to how it was until you restart the headset if not it keeps getting worse and doesn't care if you are playing anything on your pc.
