It's a workout to apply! I completed the project (two coats) in an afternoon and I’m super happy with the results. It also darkened a slight bit more than my usual finish which is quite an extensive process and not nearly as forgiving as the odies. All of my questions were answered clearly and fully. Anyway, I have been really happy with the finish, a beautiful matte sheen that brings out the grain of the walnut. Does everything they say and more. Because you wipe the surface clean I don't have to worry about any little particles getting stuck in the finish. Wholeheartedly recommend! I heard about Odie's Oil from a friend, and used it recently on a live-edge table made from ambrosia maple. However, non-drying oils stay wet indefinitely, and they will wash off when the board is scrubbed with soap and water. You will not be disapointed with the results of this product. 2. Walnut oil isn't a bad product at all but it would make my finished products a couple shades darker, losing some of the grain patterns in the process. The wood instantly became lusterous, and the Odie’s Oil brought a new richness and warmth to the maple. Thanks Odie! I don’t usually write product reviews but have already ordered a 2nd jar for finishing/sealing the surface of a pecan bench. Was easy to apply and job came out better than I expected.
